DEVOTIONAL NO. 8 ASSURANCE OF SALVATION

Be Still, Soul That Has Been Redeemed

Grace embraced you before the world had ever known day and night.

Child of light,
Have you ever sat quietly and listened to the wind speak?
It does not force itself to be heard, yet to a quiet heart, it sings a song of peace.
So it is with God’s voice to His children:

“Be still, you have been redeemed.”

In one long, uninterrupted sentence, the Apostle Paul wrote a heavenly psalm—
not merely as beautiful poetry, but as a seal from heaven:
You have been chosen,
you have been loved,
you have been redeemed,
you have been sealed.

Not because your steps have been so straight,
not because your soul is without blemish,
but because Grace embraced you before the world had ever known day and night.

“In Christ, we were chosen… redeemed by His blood… given forgiveness… granted wisdom… sealed by the Holy Spirit.”

Ephesians 1:3–14

Ah, is that not an embrace sufficient for your weary soul?
If the Messiah says, “You have been justified,” who dares contradict Him?
If the Holy Spirit has placed His seal upon you,
who can remove it?

Therefore, do not fear when the world says,
“Your salvation is not yet secure.”
Do not waver when human tongues question God’s love.
Remind your soul:

“I have been sealed in Christ—and what He has begun, He will bring to completion.”

Closing Prayer

Father,
I do not come because I am worthy.
I come because You have called me.
I do not walk because I am strong.
I walk because Your love sustains me.

Teach me to rest in the assurance of Your love,
and to live as a child whom You have redeemed—
not in fear,
but in thanksgiving.

Amen.
