His love began before your return
The gospel does not begin with our ability to repair ourselves. God loved us while we were still sinners and opened the way home through Jesus.
Conviction is not rejection
God’s love does not pretend sin is harmless. The Father corrects His children because He is committed to restoring them, not because He delights in pushing them away.
Look to Christ, not the temperature of your feelings
Feelings change from day to day. The cross and resurrection are objective anchors: God has acted, Christ has carried our sin, and grace invites us to come near.
Return honestly
Confess what is true, receive the mercy promised in Christ, and take the next faithful step. You do not need to hide until you feel worthy enough to be found.
