Why?
Because from the beginning, God’s desire was not merely to give human beings rules, but to dwell among His people.
Yet there is one great problem: How can a holy God dwell with sinful humanity?
The entire first part of Leviticus explains how people are prepared to draw near to God.
At the center of the book, God Himself provides the way of atonement.
The final part then teaches how a reconciled people are to live as a people who reflect His holiness.
The Great Message of Leviticus
This is the great message of Leviticus:
God desires to dwell with humanity.
And the whole story of Scripture moves toward the fulfillment of that desire—until at last, through Jesus the Messiah, God opens the way for everyone who believes to live in His presence, now and forever.
