Then — 2,000 Years Ago
In the days of the early church, a troubling teaching appeared: “Gentiles must be circumcised and are required to obey the Law of Moses; otherwise, they cannot be saved.”
Now
To this day, there are still teachers and church members who “shackle” themselves under the bondage of the Law as a condition of salvation, as though Christ’s sacrifice were not enough.
Let us return to the decision of the apostles and the Holy Spirit in Acts 15:
“We have heard that some went out from us and troubled you, unsettling your minds by what they said... It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.”

The Conclusion
Do not let your heart be troubled by teaching that adds burdens. God has purified your heart through faith. Remember, salvation does not come from what we do or do not do, but solely because we place our trust in Jesus Christ alone.
