Understanding Jesus’ Transfiguration and the Word of God

We believe in God the Father and Jesus Christ, and because of that faith, we have a longing to read the Bible. However, unexpectedly, there are so many meanings in the Bible that are difficult to understand... what does Jesus mean by calling out, "Eli, Eli, lama sabaktani"? Why is there a story about Bashan bulls roaring like lions? Many things in the Bible seem beyond reason or difficult to understand, even though the Bible is written so that we can understand the contents of God's heart.

The Parable of the Vineyard: Find the Common Thread

The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross is the core of our faith, but this event has a deeper meaning than just His physical suffering. By examining the spiritual meaning of Bashan, Transfiguration on Mount Hermon, and the parable of the Vineyard, we gain insight into the cosmic battle between darkness and light.

What happened. This journey through the Holy Scriptures reveals how valuable the sacrifice of Jesus is.

Eli, Eli, long sabachthani?

"My God, my God, why did You forsake Me?"

Was Jesus really abandoned by the Father in heaven? Of course not, this exclamation turns out to be a hyperlink to Psalm 22, A psalm written by David. Psalm 22 is a prophetic writing 1000 years before Jesus was crucified, but through this call, Jesus wants us look at the Psalm so that we understand what really happened when he was hanging on the cross.

Psalm 22 - "My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?"

Verse 8 - All who saw me mocked me, they sneered their lips and shook their heads.

Verse 13 - Many bulls surrounded me; bulls from Bashan surrounded me.

Verse 14 - They open their mouths against me like a lion that pounces and roars.

Basan: Fortress of evil spirits, the gate to the realm of death the Basan area, especially Mount Hermon, in the ancient tradition of Israel is known as the territory of evil spirits. This is where the angels who rebel against God taking wives from human children and gave birth to offspring in the form of giants called Nefilim.

Let's see, what is recorded in the Bible about Basan:

1.

The residence of the people of Refaim (descendants of giants) - Genesis 14:5 2.

Israel defeated Og King of Basan - Deuteronomy 3:11; Joshua 12:4-5, 13:12 3.

"Lembu2x Basan" will be thrown to Mount Hermon - Amos 4:1 4.

Mount Hermon (Basan) vs Mount Zion - Psalm 68:15-22 5.

The evil spirit that Jesus' disciples can't cast out - Mark 9:14-29 transfiguration of Jesus on Mount Hermon: Declaration of war against the power of darkness

Can

Understand why Jesus chose the area around the Sea of Galilee as His basecamp. Look at the journey map of Jesus' ministry— what do you imagine in your mind? Amazing, isn't it?

Apparently, the transfiguration of Jesus on the Mountain

Hermon is not only solely to be witnessed by A group student, but is declaration of war in front of the gates of the realm of death, right in front of the devil's defense. And at the time of the declaration of war, who is more worthy to accompany Jesus than a group of leaders or His generals who have been proven in spiritual warfare, namely Moses and Elijah. Moses, with the power of God, destroyed the gods of Egypt, and Elijah, with the power of God, against Baal and destroyed many of his prophets. Jesus on the Cross was surrounded by Basan Bulls that pounced and roared. C.S. Lewis, a famous Christian writer from England, accurately described the incident, the spiritual war, and the sacrifice of Jesus in his work, The Chronicles of Narnia (which was later adapted into a film). In the crucifixion of Jesus, Jesus was not only mocked, humiliated, and physically tortured, but also experienced suffering in the spirit realm. Imagine how difficult it is for the army of heaven to see their King played and surrounded by the power of darkness. The angel Michael must have restrained himself with full of anger, in human expression, as if his teeth were chattering until his gums were bleeding holding back his anger. And can we imagine how God the Father feels? His beloved Son, experienced unimaginable suffering on the cross to provide salvation to mankind.

Parable about the Vineyard Cultiver (Matthew 21:33-46; Mark 12:1-12; Luke 20:9-19) Here we can see how amazing our Bible is. The parable about the vineyard farmer is not only depicts an evil religious leader in the time of Jesus, but also, from a cosmic point of view, tells the story of how God's divine council was broken and ruled mankind unjustly and even tried to control the world of God's creation by killing the children of the owner of this world. Finally, those who are not evil will receive judgment from God and will be replaced by a divine council that is new, that is us, who will reign with Jesus.

Daniel 7:27; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3; Revelation 2:26-27; Revelation 3:21; Revelation 20:4

CONCLUSION:

1. The transfiguration of Jesus is a declaration of war or a demonstration of authority over the power of darkness.

2. Prepare yourself to be good and loyal rulers to God.

3. Our Bible is really amazing, there are so many things that God can open to us. Let us have a heart that is always thirsty for the truth of God's Word every day.
