Are you with God or against Him?
From Joshua's encounter with the Angel of God (Joshua 5:13-15), we learn that the point of the journey of faith is not whether God is on our side, but whether we are on His side. The angel of God did not express himself in favor of Joshua or his enemies, but emphasized that this was God's battle, not man.
Walking with God means realizing that we are part of His great plan for mankind. We do not lead, but support and submit to His will. We can choose to be a passive audience or an active supporter in God's work. By supporting His work, we show loyalty to Him, not only in words, but also through actions, obedience, and willingness to play a role in His plans.

Without a personal relationship and closeness to God through understanding His Word, we may find it difficult to understand His work that is happening around us. Like the Israelites who often failed to understand God's intentions during Joshua's leadership, we can also lose the meaning of what God is doing if we do not know Him.
Through His Word, we learn about His nature—his loyalty, love, justice, and His power that is beyond human understanding. God's Word helps us align our minds with His mind, so that we can see our place in His great plan.
By knowing God more deeply, we not only understand what He does, but also how we can play a role in His work. Knowing God is the basis of walking with Him. This is not just knowledge, but a life relationship full of faith, understanding, and obedience, which allows us to walk in His will with confidence and joy.

Will we still be with Him?
The journey with God is not about our perfection, but about our loyalty to remain on His side until the end of life. Many characters in the Bible make big mistakes, but are still accepted by God because they repent and trust Him. For example, Rahab—a woman whose life was far from piety, but with her faith, she supported God's plan and eventually became part of Jesus' lineage (Joshua 2, Matthew 1:5).
There are also times when God takes someone out of this world as a form of His love, to protect them from a bad environment or situation that can take them away from Him. The Word of God says, "The righteous are destroyed, and no one pays attention to them; the righteous are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away from their clamity. People who live righteously will enter into peace, they will rest in their resting place, he who lives honestly." (Isaiah 57:1-2).
The death of Abia, the son of Jerobeam, is one example. God took it because in him there was something good in His eyes, unlike his family who lived in evil (1 Kings 14:12-13). Or King Josiah, who was taken by God before seeing the destruction of Judah, as a form of His mercy (2 Kings 22:20).
This reminds us that God is in control of our lives until the end. The most important thing is to keep walking with Him every day, surrender our lives to His grace, and believe that He knows what is best for us. Philippians 2:13 reminds us that "It is God who works in you both will and work according to His will." This means that our perseverance comes from God who works in us, not from our efforts alone. Therefore, when we feel weak or depressed, we can ask the Holy Spirit to help us survive and remain faithful.

Walking with God is a life journey full of faith, trust, and obedience. It's not about running in a hurry or straying from the road, but about staying close to Him, step by step, until the end. As we walk with Him, we can trust that God, who knows our hearts and sees our future, will guide us according to His perfect wisdom.
Even in His discipline or in moments that we do not fully understand, God's will is always good—for our growth, for His glory, and for our eternal salvation. We do not need to be afraid of the end of our journey, because He who started the good work in our lives is faithful to finish it (Philippians 1:6).
If we remain in Him, God will keep us from falling and will offer us blamelessly before the Father in Heaven (Judas :24). And if, in His wisdom, He chooses to take us before we slip, we can be sure that it is because of His love and His desire to take care of us. Therefore, let us walk with Him with confidence, knowing that our lives and future are in His safe hands.
The question is not whether we can trust God for the end of this journey—but whether we will walk with Him today. The answer is in choosing Him every day, walking humbly, and relying on His grace in every step of the journey.
